Dr. Amber Johnson

Dr. Amber Johnson grew up in Truckee, California, where she spent her winters cross-country skiing and snowboarding, and her summers horseback riding in the Sierra Nevada. Her deep love for animals and the outdoors naturally led her to a career in veterinary medicine.

She earned her B.A. in Spanish from UC Santa Barbara, where she also completed her pre-med requirements. After graduating, Dr. Johnson moved to the Bay Area and began working as a veterinary technician for both equine and small animal practices. It was during her time managing herd health on a large Quarter Horse ranch in Northern California that she realized her calling to become a veterinarian.

Dr. Johnson went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis and has since practiced both equine and small animal medicine in Northern California and Florida. Her professional interests include general wellness care, minor surgical procedures, and integrative medicine. She values building strong relationships with her clients to provide personalized, high-quality care for every patient.

When she’s not working, Dr. Johnson enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, riding her horses, and making frequent visits to Lake Tahoe.
